FAQ
1. Is it legal?
CBD extracts with a THC content of less than 0.2% (by weight) are perfectly legal. A recent judgment of the European Court of Justice confirms that these extracts are not included in the lists of controlled substances and can be considered as food.
The World Health Organization (WHO) Committee of Experts on Drug Addiction has also suggested that extracts with a THC content of <0.2% should not be considered and should not be included in the controlled substances.
National legislation (N. 4139/2013) stipulates that products derived from varieties of industrial hemp (with THC <0.2%), do not fall under the provisions on drugs.
2. Is it safe?
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that CBD be safe to use, as it is not addictive and does not cause toxicity, as confirmed by other recent research.
What to look out for is buying CBD products from trusted companies that provide all chemical analyzes transparently from independent laboratories, as the market is flooded with questionable quality products and products that either mislead consumers with the wrong labeling on the content, or contain harmful substances such as heavy metals.
3. Is it psychoactive? Does it have an intoxicating effect?
The answer is simple: no. CBD is a natural, herbal product, non-toxic, non-psychoactive and non-euphoric. It does not cause intoxication even if you drink the whole bottle at once.
4. Can you take an overdose?
A 2011 study on the safety and side effects of CBD, confirmed by a similar study in 2017, showed that humans tolerate continuous use of CBD even at high daily doses of 1500 mg. However, a 2019 study in mice raises some concerns about the safety of CBD regarding the potential for liver damage and its interactions with other drugs. Possible side effects may include diarrhea, changes in appetite, and fatigue. If you are taking medication and want to try CBD, it is important to discuss this with your doctor first.
5. How much should I drink every day?
Dosage depends on many factors in a person (see the Dosage section in the FAQ).
An average dose is 20-40mg per day, depending on the symptom you want to treat.
The basic approach is to start with a low oil content (eg 3%), with a few drops each day for a start (eg 2-3) and increase the dose by 1 drop every 4th day.
It is important to observe yourself when you start to feel better, with improved mood and symptoms to maintain your therapeutic window and dosage.
6. How much can I give my dog / cat?
CBD has beneficial effects for our little friends as well. A general principle in dosing for pets is 1-5mg for every 5 kg of body weight (0.1mg / kg), twice daily. Each drop of KANNABIO PET CARE CBD DROPS contains 0.8mg CBD. See more here.
7. How is the extract prepared?
Kannabio's full range CARE DROPS extracts are prepared in two ways. CARE DROPS 3% RAW is prepared by extraction in organic solvent (ethanol) and then diluted in organic olive oil. CARE DROPS 5% is prepared by extraction with carbon dioxide, which is considered the most "green" method of extraction, then the extract is decarboxylated (converts CBDa to CBD) and waxes, lipids and chlorophyll are removed. Then it is also diluted in organic olive oil.
8. What is the difference between full spectrum and wide spectrum extracts?
Full-spectrum extracts contain all the active ingredients of the plant in natural proportions, with THC being below 0.2% (by weight) due to legislation. Broad-spectrum extracts contain only CBD and other cannabinoids are undetectable or in minimal contents. According to scientific research, full-spectrum extracts are more effective than broad-spectrum, due to the entourage effect of all cannabinoids, terpenes and other substances they contain.
